The Department of Science and Technology has chosen digital financial services leader PayMaya to empower the OneSTore.ph e-commerce platform.

The partnership brings a significant boost to DOST’s mission for OneSTore.ph to serve as a platform to expand the market of local MSMEs by allowing sellers on the site to easily accept payments via Visa, Mastercard and JCB credit, debit and prepaid card as well as PayMaya e-wallet via their mobile number through the cutting-edge PayMaya checkout payment gateway.

“MSMEs are the lifeblood of the country and power the economy, which is why it is imperative to help them succeed. With the OneSTore.ph platform, we helped them expand their market online which reaches virtually every corner of the country. And now that we have digital payments acceptance from PayMaya, the online shopping experience on the platform just got even more convenient,” said DOST Secretary Fortunato dela Peña.

Envisioned as a platform to help local MSMEs grow their business by expanding their market online, OneSTore.ph was launched in 2017 to help promote the use of the platform in connection with its Small Enterprises Technology Upgrading Program.

Through PayMaya checkout, businesses of all sizes can easily accept payments via card and other emerging payment options such as PayMaya, which only requires the customer to input their mobile number in order to pay for purchases online.

“With DOST being a center of excellence for the country’s science and technology programs, this partnership is a validation of PayMaya’s integrated digital financial services platform. We are proud to work with DOST on this project, and we are looking forward to collaborate with them in other areas as well. The benefits of digital should be felt by all, not just by large enterprises or big-named merchants, which is why we have designed our platforms, particularly PayMaya Checkout, to be able to scale and adapt to the needs of all businesses, no matter the size or location,” said PayMaya founder and chief executive Orlando Vea.

Aside from powering digital payments acceptance for OneSTore.ph, PayMaya and DOST will also be collaborating on bringing digital payments capabilities to OneSTore physical hubs that will be launched across the country through its One by PayMaya all-in-one payment device, which is the only point-of-sale device that can accept multiple modes of cashless payments via swipe, tap, and dip for cards, and pay-to-scan via QR.

PayMaya is the only digital financial services company with an integrated suite of solutions for consumers and merchants complemented by the widest remittance partner agent network. It is the financial technology arm of Voyager Innovations, the leading technology company in the country backed by PLDT, KKR, Tencent, World Bank’s IFC and the IFC Emerging Asia Fund.

The “one payment platform” enables the country’s top e-commerce sites, major retail and quick-service restaurants, government institutions and MSMEs, allowing them to accept multiple kinds of cashless payments.
